George Takei speaks at Imagined Futures May 2, 2009

Yes, I spoke right after, but George Takei is bad ass. He mentioned that giving hugs can lead to swine flu, but I hugged him anyway. His talk goes across the map and he mentioned Gene Roddenberry and even plugs the new Star Trek. If I could be as cool as George, then I'll be lucky. The conference seemed like it was aimed at the future artists of Asian America... well, that means America. My part of the talk, was basically to show what we've done, how pop culture counts, and how being part of the rest of the world matters. Photo by Thomas Nakanishi

As two of the most prominent Asian American artists, you and Mr. Takei were the perfect speakers for the event. How inspiring your words must have been to the future leaders of America. Just awesome!

Hey Eric Nakamura, it's Liz. Just dropping by to say 'hi' and that I wrote you an email. Check it out when you have the time. seeya
