Converse 100 Years Black Fives

In the mail came these. Interesting configuration and style. They're rugged and athletic. They look from the turn of the century, yet with new features.
It has a feel of newer Clark's type shoes. Sort of bootish but not, a little more sporty than in the 70s, and there you have it. A modern classic. When would I wear them in the question. I almost feel like it's for travel, when you'd take just one pair of shoes to do everything.
I put it up on HB blog.

greetings, herr editor;
the overall silhouette and tread pattern of this shoe are quite classic, which i find acceptable. i do not care for the color of the upper so much, preferring the darker, more monochromatic BLACK colour, if ya catch my meaning, if ya follow my drift.
what i find strangely compelling, however, is the stitch pattern of the upper, which i find reminiscent of the futuristic ablative armour adopted by the star trek: voyager in the final two episodes of the series.
coincidence? i think so.
i would purchase this shoe - IN ALL BLACK, if i were a shoe collectin'-kind of man, which, alas, i am not!
good bye for now, sir.
yeah, herr editor from me too, and uhmm... aye, good bye for now, sir
