Sale, Same price!

Target has these all over the store. Maybe I have it all wrong, but this is what it looks like. The sale price, then the same price right under it. Even if it means something that totally makes sense, it's not that evident for as much as I care to investigate. But the sale must have been hot, since there were hardly any paper towels left. Maybe it's a psych test to see if red sale signs make a difference.

Was the non sales price for a six pack?

You'd have to imagine so. It couldn't have been for 1 roll and 4 packs? I'd hope not that's nearly $2 a roll at Target.

As a former (long ago) Target employee, I have the answer. It's not "Sale", it's "As Advertised". Means it was in the weekly flyer for the normal price to move the Target brand.

So it's sort of a trick to make it look like you're getting a better deal, when it's just the same thing with a colorful price tag.?

Yes, that's exactly what it is: a shelf tag to trick your eyes into thinking it's on sale.

I noticed this as well and now I look under every tag at Target. You can still find a good deal even though the shelf tags are misleading.
