Donger Need Food
I think it's for Fresh Air on KCRW, we had to talk about Long Duk Dong, it's ramifications, and so on. Yes, LDD gets an "it" as a human or inhuman designation. The project sounds interesting, they're covering one person or character that was iconic for a group. For Asian Americans, it's LDD. I'm glad to say that it's pretty over. Long Duk Dong is almost forgotten, and I'm not sure how a 16 year old sees the guy. But back in the day, it was sheer hell being a dude, who'd be called Donger, or Long Duk Dong...

For those of us of an older age (you and Martin included) it could also have been Bruce Lee.
But, yeah, LDD was a curse upon my existence for a short while there.
Bruce Lee wasn't a curse as much as Donger however...
i haven't seen it in maybe 20 years but i still think he was awesome in gung ho!
Corinne had to explain the Long Duk Dong reference to me after the interview. Great interview though. I'll see you guys when you get to UIC.
