Puch mopeds
Outside of gr/eats where the food honestly has been rocking lately, was these two mopeds from the later 70s or 80s. At least I think that's about the vintage on these. I've been telling people that mopeds are going to make a comeback, especially these post 76 gas crunch editions. Puch was probably the best one, then Motobecane. I remember these because, well, I ran into a curb riding one once. The probably get 150 miles to the gallon, looks cool, and has a great style about them.
The latest eco vehicle. It still run on gas, but they're also cool. Also check out the Honda Express, they had great commercials once upon a time.

mopeds are a long way from any tipping point to a comeback in los angeles, but i really wish it would happen. we've got the weather for it and with change left over from lunch you can buy gas for a week.

There was a shop for a while in Austin that sold mopeds like these. They organized rides around town as well, so it wasn't just buying a moped, it was buying a moped lifestyle. Mopeds are great for low gas consumption... but nothing can beat a bike.
I have my Suzuki FA50 I need to fix in time for spring :D
